Fast Edit
Fast Edit is a compact inline panel that lets you update a todo's core fields without opening the full detail view. It is designed for quick corrections — changing a due date, reassigning a todo, or bumping the priority — without breaking your flow.
At a glance
- ✓Update title, dates, status, priority, or assignee without opening the full form
- ✓Available on desktop and mobile
- ✓Changes save immediately — no explicit save button
- ✓Skip editing closes the panel without making changes
Opening Fast Edit
There are two ways to open Fast Edit on desktop:
- Hover and click the pencil icon — hover a todo row to reveal the action icons on the right. Click the pencil (✏) icon.
- Keyboard shortcut — navigate to a todo with the keyboard and press E. The Fast Edit panel opens for the focused todo.
On mobile, tap the three-dot menu (…) on a todo row and select Fast Edit from the action sheet.
What you can edit
- 1
Title
Click the title field and type a new name. The current title is pre-filled for easy editing.
- 2
Due date
Click the due date field to open a compact date picker. Clear the field to remove the due date entirely.
- 3
Start date
Same as due date — set or clear the start date in one click.
- 4
Status
Use the status dropdown to move the todo between To Do, In Progress, Done, or Canceled. Completing from Fast Edit runs the full completion flow.
- 5
Priority
Pick Low, Medium, High, or Urgent from the priority selector.
- 6
Assignee
Click the assignee picker to search project members and reassign the todo.
