Streaks & XP

Taskvault's gamification engine rewards consistent work. Two interlocking systems keep you motivated: streaks reward daily consistency, and XP tracks your cumulative contribution and unlocks levels.

At a glance

  • Streak increases by 1 for each day you complete at least one todo
  • Miss a day and the streak resets — unless you have a streak shield
  • XP is earned by completing, creating, and maintaining streaks
  • Levels unlock avatar frames and permanent per-level XP bonuses

Streaks

Your streak increases by one for each calendar day on which you complete at least one todo. Miss a day and your streak resets to zero — unless you have a streak shield. Your current streak is shown prominently on the dashboard and in the sidebar.

Streak shields

A streak shield protects against one missed day. When your streak would otherwise reset, the shield is consumed automatically and your streak continues. You can hold at most one shield at a time. Shields are earned as rewards for maintaining long streaks.

XP (Experience Points)

XP is earned across multiple actions:

Completing todos

Base XP per completion — the primary source of XP.

On-time completion

Bonus XP when a todo is completed on or before its due date.

Daily check-in bonus

Extra XP for your first completion of each calendar day.

Creating todos, milestones, and lists

Smaller XP award for creation actions — rewards planning, not just finishing.

Bulk completions

XP is awarded for each todo in a bulk mark-done batch.

Streak bonus

Ongoing XP multiplier that increases the longer your streak runs.

Info

XP is awarded once per todo lifecycle. If a completed todo is reopened and re-completed, the second completion does not award XP. This prevents gaming the system.

Levels

XP accumulates toward your next level. Each level requires progressively more XP than the last. When you level up, an overlay animation plays and you may unlock a bonus — such as a new avatar frame or an increased XP multiplier.

Level-up bonuses

Certain level thresholds unlock permanent per-level bonuses. These are cumulative — the bonus at level 10 adds to the bonus at level 5. Check the level-up overlay when you level up for details on what that specific level unlocks.
