Timeline View

The Timeline is a Gantt-style horizontal view of all milestones and project events plotted against a date axis. It is the best way to see how milestones relate to each other in time — whether they overlap, whether there are gaps, and whether the schedule makes sense at a glance.

At a glance

  • Gantt-style view of milestones and events on a shared date axis
  • Each milestone renders as a bar spanning its start date to target date
  • Hover any bar to see milestone details without leaving the view
  • Date range controls let you zoom in to a sprint or zoom out to the full project
  • Read-only — edit milestone dates from the milestone detail panel

Reading the timeline

Milestone bars

Left edge = start date; right edge = target date. Bar width represents duration.

Colour coding

Completed milestones appear muted; active milestones are highlighted; overdue milestones show in a warning colour.

Project events

Shown as vertical markers on the date axis. Hover to see the event title and type.

Today line

A vertical line marks the current date so you can see what is past vs. upcoming at a glance.

Navigating the timeline

  1. 1

    Scroll horizontally

Drag left or right to move through time. Use trackpad swipe, mouse wheel, or the scroll bar.

  2. 2

    Adjust the date range

Use the date range controls (top right) to zoom into a two-week sprint view or out to the full year.

  3. 3

    Hover a milestone bar

Hover any bar to see a tooltip with the milestone name, dates, completion percentage, and todo count.

  4. 4

    Click a bar

Click to open the milestone detail panel — view todos, edit the target date, or navigate to the milestone.

💡 Tip

Use the timeline at the start of a sprint to check for overlap. If two milestones share most of their dates, the team may be spread too thin. Adjust target dates before the sprint begins.

ℹ️ Note

The timeline is read-only. To reschedule milestones, edit dates from the milestone detail panel or the Milestones list view.
