Todo Comments
Every todo has a Comments tab where project members can discuss the work, ask questions, share updates, or leave notes for whoever picks up the task next. Comments are threaded, timestamped, and persist even after a todo is completed or canceled.
At a glance
- ✓Threaded comments on every todo, visible to all project members
- ✓@mention a teammate to send them an in-app notification
- ✓Comments survive todo completion — the history is always there
- ✓All project members can read and write comments
Opening the comments tab
- 1
Open the todo detail
Click the todo title to open the full detail view. On mobile, this opens as a bottom sheet.
- 2
Switch to the Comments tab
Select the "Comments" tab inside the detail view. Any existing comments are shown in chronological order, oldest first.
- 3
Write a comment
Click the text input at the bottom of the comment list and type your message. Press Enter to send, or Shift+Enter to add a new line.
@Mentioning a teammate
Type @ inside the comment box to open the mention autocomplete. Start typing a name and select a teammate from the dropdown. They will receive an in-app notification linking directly to the comment thread. You can @mention multiple people in one comment.
💡 Tip
Replying to a comment
Click the Reply button under any comment to start a threaded reply. Replies are indented under the original comment to keep conversations organised. The original commenter is notified of any replies.
Editing and deleting comments
You can edit or delete your own comments at any time. Hover a comment and click the three-dot menu (…) to see the options. Workspace admins can delete any comment. Deleted comments show a "This comment was removed" placeholder so the thread continuity is not broken.
ℹ️ Note
Notification behaviour
- You are notified when someone @mentions you in a comment.
- If you are a watcher on a todo, you are notified of all new comments on that todo.
- The todo's assignee is always notified of new comments.
- The todo's creator is notified of the first comment if they are not the assignee.
